Having already completed 37 Ironman I found Iron man Vichy course to be a fast (2 loop) circuit See below my top things you need to know about IM Vichy bike course 1- Easy to follow there were M-Dot arrows clearly marked on the road 2 - The course was not hilly 3 - Expect hot cross winds to be more a challenge 4 - It was not technical bike course even for nervous inexperienced cyclist 5 ? Depending on your speed and skill level there was only 7 braking sections for each loop, less times to brake if you took a good line. 6 - The road surface was generally good and was swept on various comers for the 70.3 and Ironman event. 7 - Careful with drain covers through villages 8 ? There was snot much shade apart from some section of trees 9 ? The feed stations were situated at good places and were long enough to get all your nutrition and hydration needs 10 - During the final 19 km it was undulating but you lost approximately 300 feet so expect your average pace to increase. 11 ?
