It was then that the Cathar religion developed and garnered great success. But with success came enemies. The Church intervened and hunted down the Cathar apostles, also known as “Bonshommes”. They subsequently had to flee the Ariège region and the Inquisition to seek protection from the Catalan lords. You will mirror their escape on this magnificent and unspoiled route between Ariège and Catalonia.
