Activity Recording
3, 2, 1... Record!
Activity recording through the OpenRunner app is a free feature that provides comfort and safety during all your outings. Lace up your shoes or hop on your bike, start recording, and off you go! Thanks to your smartphone's GPS, you have quick access to the distance covered, duration, or elevation gain. But more importantly, no more moments of panic when you're lost, as you know in real-time where you are and how to find the right path thanks to the precision provided by mapping.
Recording your activities also means keeping a history of all your outings in one place. They are all categorized by month for easier retrieval. If you loved one of your outings and want to redo the exact same route, simply convert your old recorded outing on the app into a route, making it easy to do it again.
Following a pre-planned route has never been easier. By starting the activity recording, you are automatically alerted if you deviate from your initial track. Convenient and reassuring! And to be alerted throughout your outing, activity recording can be done offline, meaning without a network. A simple way to optimize your battery and keep it running for as long as possible. And even without a network, your features are not limited as the maps also work in offline mode.
To capture a beautiful viewpoint or the bakery break during your outing, you can take photos during the activity. This way, you can relive the best moments of your route and find the exact locations of these shots. And if you're not a photographer, you can still keep the location of your favorite panoramas, strategic water points, and other refreshment spots by adding Points of Interest (POIs) during the activity.
And because your safety is our priority, the activity recording is compatible with LiveTrack functionality. Thus, your loved ones can track your location and find you in case of a problem. An SOS function is also integrated on the screen to quickly contact emergency services or send your location within seconds.
