Dans la combe brune et ses alentours, la forêt évolue : les hêtres et les érables concurrencent les pins et leur croissance ferme peu à peu les perspectives.</p>
<p>
Nous découvrons au bas de la forte pente une remarquable source : la Font d'Angieu puis le parcours passe par la maison forestière du rat (refuge).</p>
<p>
Situé entre 1200 et 1500 m c'est un bon compromis pour marcher en altitude modérée sans souffrir de l'excès d'ensoleillement.</p>
