A l'approche du Puits Neuf, la combe de Chaulon se resserre avec quelques passages escarpés. On passe successivement par deux échelles et deux cordes à nœud permettant de franchir ces passages tapissés de mousses glissantes.
N.B. Compte tenu de l'état du chemin, cet itinéraire peut ne pas convenir à tous les randonneurs. Ce chemin peut être impraticable pendant et après un épisode pluvieux.
