The first week begins on the Basque coast before heading inland through the villages and valleys of Navarre. Travellers discover Bayonne, Biarritz and Saint-Jean-de-Luz before exploring Ainhoa, Espelette and the legendary caves of Zugarramurdi. The journey continues through the Baztan Valley to Pamplona and Roncesvalles, following part of the Camino de Santiago before reaching the ancient forests of Irati and the traditional mountain villages of the Salazar and Roncal valleys.
